Biostatistics is an interdisciplinary subject of mathematics and medicine, which employs mathematics and statistics concepts and techniques in the fields of public health and medicine. This course introduces the important role of biostatistics in biology, medicine and public health in view of the interdisciplinary nature of biostatistics. The content includes the history of biostatistics, basic concepts, introduction to important methods of biostatistics and the significance of biostatistics through specific examples. We would invite biostatisticians working in different fields, including universities, hospitals, government departments, pharmaceutical and medical device companies and so on, to talk about the applications of biostatistics in different fields.
